Partner Tom has been a Partner at New Link Consulting since March 2014 and leads the firm’s Risk and Regulation practice. He is a highly experienced senior consultant with deep expertise in banking regulation, financial crime prevention, risk management, and organisational design. Having delivered complex, regulatory-driven change programmes across multiple jurisdictions, Tom brings a global perspective and a strong track record of execution within major financial institutions.
At New Link, Tom advises clients on a wide range of strategic and regulatory matters. His experience includes leading business strategy reviews, advising on complex cross-border legal entity structures, and supporting the launch of new business lines in regulated markets, including assessing capital and liquidity implications and developing multi-year business plans. He has significant experience managing regulatory applications and engaging directly with regulators and external advisers.
In addition, Tom has held interim senior leadership roles within client organisations, including serving as Chief Operating Officer of a European broker-dealer and as a senior KYC/AML executive within the markets division of a global financial institution.
Prior to joining New Link Consulting, Tom spent five years at Royal Bank of Scotland, where he led large-scale, front-to-back transformation programmes. These included preparing the bank for Dodd-Frank implementation—during which he represented the bank on ISDA working groups and industry governance forums—and managing the integration of the bank’s rates and credit businesses across Europe and APAC following the ABN AMRO acquisition, one of the largest banking mergers in history. His early career focused on structured and exotic derivative products.
